Anthropic API Key (Claude)

GrothAi uses Claude (by Anthropic) to generate AI comments, post drafts, content plans, and refinements.

You get an API key for free at console.anthropic.com. Claude Haiku is extremely affordable; typical daily GrothAi usage costs pennies.

GrothAi stores your key encrypted and only uses it to make API calls on your behalf. We never resell or share it.

Required for X Auto-Post

X (Twitter) Developer API Key

Required only to schedule and auto-post tweets on X. Without it, you can still compose, draft, and manually paste tweets using the extension.

Apply for a free Developer account at developer.x.com. The Basic tier is sufficient for GrothAi's posting features.

GrothAi sends tweets on your behalf only at the times you schedule. No rogue posting, ever.

Is GrothAi really free forever?

Yes. The Free tier has all features and no time limit. You only pay for your own Anthropic API usage (typically pennies per day) and optionally your X Developer account. GrothAi itself charges nothing.

What does Anthropic API usage actually cost?

GrothAi uses Claude Haiku for most tasks (the fastest, cheapest Claude model). A typical day of GrothAi usage, generating 6 comments and 1 post draft, costs less than $0.05 on Anthropic's pay-as-you-go pricing. Anthropic gives new accounts $5 free credit to start.

Do I need an X API key to use GrothAi for X?

No. You can use the full X Daily Flow, generate tweet drafts with AI, and paste them manually using the Chrome extension, all without an X API key. The key is only needed for the auto-scheduled tweet posting feature.

Does GrothAi work without any API key at all?

Yes, partially. The Daily Wizard, Content Calendar, Analytics Dashboard, Engagement Profiles, and Chrome Extension all work without any API key. Only the AI content generation (comments, post drafts, week planning) requires the Anthropic key.

When is the Pro plan launching?

Pro (with GrothAi-powered AI, no BYOK needed) is in development. Sign up for the free tier now; early users will get Pro at a discounted rate when it launches.

Is my API key stored securely?

Yes. Your Anthropic and X API keys are stored encrypted in our database. They are only used to make API calls on your behalf and are never transmitted to or shared with any third party. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
